Applications

Some of the best apps we have seen and suggestions of how they might be used in religious education.  All were sourced at the iTunes store or check if these are available on Android or in the Windows store.

Glo Bible – Free

If you download nothing else this year download this app.  It is divided into three sections the Scriptures (with study notes), Atlas containing useful maps of Biblical places, Media a collection of photos, art works, virtual tours, videos to support the teaching of Scriptures. Every level, every scripture topic. There is an expensive premium version that schools might consider purchasing for teachers of senior Scripture.

RC Buddy – Free

A collection of traditional prayers, links to the readings of the day, the rosary. Good classroom resource.

iGod Today – Free

Daily video  homily by Fr Michael Manning based on the Scripture of the day.  Reflection also available.

  • Personal and staff reflection.
  • Certain ones for use with senior RE students.

GCSE Religious Studies Bitesize Last Minute Learner – 2.59

Revision quizzes in a wide range of the topics covered in senior RE.
